The two sides of violence
Physical violence is easy to see. Assaulting an innocent person.hitting a dog, killing an "enemy," harming a child, beating a wife, destroying property, war activity, the prostitution of adolescents, the pornography of sexuality, homelessness, etc., are easy to see.
Mental violence is harder to see. Coercing, discriminating, namelessness, bullying, sabotaging, cheating, shunning, rationalizing, betraying and being made to carry a false identity are harder to see. They are validated by embedding their seeds in names, words and symbols we use everyday. Embedding Violence In Language - EVIL. The acronym fits the description.
This means that violence must be redefined to include both sides.
